MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are set to release veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb, NFL insider Tom Pelissero confirmed Monday.

Chubb, 29, recorded 22 sacks over three seasons in Miami after being acquired in November 2022 in a trade with the Denver Broncos that included a first-round draft pick.

In his first full season with the Dolphins in 2023, the two-time Pro Bowl selection posted a career-high 73 combined tackles, 11 sacks, 22 quarterback hits and six forced fumbles, tying for the league lead in that category before suffering a torn ACL in Week 17.

He missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from the knee injury and returned in 2025 with 47 tackles, 8.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. He has recorded over 300 tackles in his career.

Chubb, who turns 30 in June, had two years remaining on his contract and was scheduled to count more than $31 million against the salary cap in both 2026 and 2027, according to Spotrac.

Spotrac states that Chubb’s immediate release would save Miami about $7.3 million in 2026 but result in nearly $24 million in dead money.

The move comes as the Dolphins’ new front office faces several key roster decisions with an inherited core.

Miami reportedly received trade inquiries about Chubb ahead of this year’s deadline but instead dealt pass rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2026 third-round pick.

With Chubb now out of the picture, attention shifts to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill as Miami evaluates its direction moving forward.
