PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Election season underway and some South Florida races are already stealing the spotlight.
Sunday is the day rap music executive, youth football coach, free speech fighter and civic activist Luther Campbell identified as his self-imposed deadline to decide whether to make a run for office.
Ultimately, Campbell said he plans to run for Congress in the 2026 Midterm Election.
He previously said he was considering a run for Florida’s 20th Congressional District, a seat currently occupied by Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick.
Uncle Luke made South Florida history back in the 90s for taking on and winning free speech protections for his music that law enforcement labeled as obscene.
His roots and activism in the community run deep and he unloads on issues regularly on his broadcasts, podcasts and as a columnist.
Campbell joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss his decision, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
