The coolest air of the season so far will sweep across South Florida. By Tuesday morning, lows will drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
A strong cold front will not only bring a blast of frigid air to the Upper Midwest but also a significant cooldown for Florida. As the front moves through Monday, temperatures are expected to fall throughout the day. The morning will start with lows in the lower 70s. Ahead of the front, the air mass will remain warm and humid, and a few isolated showers can’t be ruled out.
Highs will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s around lunchtime, with slightly cooler readings in areas under thicker clouds. Temperatures will continue to drop through the evening as the front pushes south of the region, falling into the 60s by night. Before daybreak Tuesday, temperatures will have dipped into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Afternoon highs Tuesday will top out in the upper 70s.
Expect a rebound by Wednesday, with lows in the 60s and highs climbing back into the 80s.
