Record cold temperatures could be challenged for parts of South Florida as a chill settles over the region Monday night. Northwest to north winds, sustained around 15 mph, gusting to 25, will continue to usher “wintry-type” air over the area.
While the Florida Keys can expect low temperatures in the 50s, the mercury is forecast to drop to the upper 40s across Miami-Dade and Broward counties Tuesday morning. Wind chill values are forecast to fall to the low 40s.
The morning will be cooler than normal and so will the afternoon. The normal low for Miami is 69°F. The normal high is 82°F. Temperatures are expected to peak only in the upper 60s to 70°F. Chilly conditions aside, Tuesday will be beautiful with mostly sunny skies and a brisk, north breeze (winds sustained 15 mph, gusts to 25 mph).
