Jan. 4: Slight cooldown, mostly dry week ahead

As we continue to unwind and reset on this final evening of winter break, temperatures will cool into the 60s. A cold front is currently over the region, but it lacks moisture. Drier air aloft continues to mix down to the surface, limiting rain chances. While conditions will remain mostly dry tonight, an isolated shower cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will cool only slightly behind the front on Monday, with highs reaching the upper 70s. The rest of the week will feature a gradual warming trend back into the lower 80s. This warmup will be driven by a strengthening ridge, which will also promote mostly dry conditions.
