Jan. 15: Strong cold front arrives today

Happy Thursday! Grab your rain gear. A strong cold front is arriving today. Starting in the morning and the early afternoon hours, it will bring a chance for showers before a cold blast of air arrives. Highs will only reach the lower 70s. Once the front clears by sunset expect temperatures to tumble. Wind chill temperatures dip to the 50s this evening before dropping to the 30s in some areas Friday morning. A Freeze Watch has been issued for Glades and Hendry counties from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning. For now, there are no advisories for Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The National Weather Service will continue to monitor if a Cold Weather Advisory may need to be issued for a portion of inland South Florida at some point tonight into Thursday. Stay tuned to Local 10 for more.
