Feb. 5: Cold front brings rain, wind and chilly temperatures to South Florida

Grab your umbrella — we are waiting for a cold front to arrive later this morning. By this afternoon, the front will clear the area and winds will pick up after sunset, ushering in chilly, dry air. Another round of colder temperatures is expected late this evening into Friday morning in the wake of the cold front passing through today. Apparent temperatures are projected to fall into the low 30s across interior South Florida and the upper 30s near the coast. A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for Friday morning from 3 to 9 a.m. for inland portions of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Collier counties, as well as all of Glades and Hendry counties.
