Violin duo Sons of Mystro to perform at Broward Center for the Performing Arts

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Umoja Mcneish and his brother Malcom McNeish are Sons of Mystro, a violin duo mixing classical music with reggae, hip-hop, and other genres.

Malcolm McNeish was in second grade when he learned how to play the violin at Bethune Elementary School in Hollywood. Umoja Mcneish followed soon after.

The brothers played together at Parkway Middle School and were accepted into the Dillard Center for the Arts magnet program in high school. They love to teach.

“We are engaging in a workshop where we get the showcase what we do as a group,” Umoja Mcneish said during a visit to his alma mater.

Jacob Aronin, the director of education for the Broward Center of the Performing Arts, said he is looking forward to seeing the talented brothers perform on Nov. 1 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
