MIAMI — El Espacio 23 in Allapattah is preparing to open the “World Far Away, Nearby and Invisible: Territory Narratives in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection” exhibit, which will include 150 works -- from painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installations.

A team of three curators, Claudia Segura Campins, Patricia M. Hanna, and Anelys Alvarez, worked together to feature more than 100 artists in the exhibit, including Miami-based artists Nina Surel from Argentina and Jennifer Basile from New York.

“Since we opened almost six years ago, all shows and efforts at El Espacio 23 have been dedicated to sparking discussion, reflection, and cross-cultural connection,” Pérez said in a statement.

During the exhibit, which opens from Nov. 20 to Aug. 15, El Espacio 23, also known as EE23, will be divided into four areas.

Segura Campins said the exhibit is meant to explore “the concept of territory, reflecting on how boundaries and perspectives shift across histories and worldviews.”

On Dec. 4, El Espacio 23 will feature Mexican artist Tania Candiani’s “Substrata” installation with original music by Mexican composer Concepción Huerta, in collaboration with Miami Sound Space on Dec. 4 during Miami Art Week.

El Espacio 23 opens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday at 2270 NW 23 St. For more information about Miami Art Week, which runs during the first week of December, visit this page.
