Bilingual Miami Book Fair begins with 5 authors’ events on Sunday afternoon

MIAMI — The bilingual Miami Book Fair starts on Sunday with five events featuring conversations with authors.

The afternoon events’ authors include Cuban and Israeli women, an environmentalist, a New York Times best-selling novelist, and a country singer.

The first event at 3 p.m. is in Spanish. Camilo Pino, a Venezuelan author, is set to introduce a conversation with Legna Rodríguez, an author born in Camaguey. It doesn’t require a ticket.

The second event at 3:30 p.m. is in English. Rochelle B. Weinstein, a local author, is set to introduce a conversation with Lihi Lapid, an author born in Arad, about her book, “I Wanted To Be Wonderful.” It’s free, but it requires a ticket.The third event at 4:30 p.m. is with Bill McKibben, who has written about global warming and will talk about his most recent book, “Here Comes the Sun.” It requires a $35 ticket that includes the book, and an option to buy a guest ticket for $15. The fourth event at 6 p.m. is with Daniel Silva, a New York Times best-selling author who will talk to CNN correspondent Jamie Gange about his most recent novel, “An Inside Job.” It requires a $35 ticket that includes the book and admission for two. The fifth event at 7:30 p.m. is with Kenny Chesney and co-author Holly Gleason about their book “Heart • Life • Music.” It requires a $35 ticket that includes a copy of the book.
