Ceviche making classes $65 per person

Miami’s Jaguar Restaurant now offering ceviche classes

MIAMI — If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make fresh, flavorful ceviche from scratch, one Coconut Grove restaurant is letting you step right into the kitchen.

Jaguar Restaurant has been serving up Latin flavors for decades with a special focus on Peruvian and Mexican cuisine, and now, they’re letting us in on their secret.

Inside Jaguar, in the heart of Coconut Grove, Chef Oscar Del Rivero is doing more than just preparing dishes, he’s sharing the secrets behind one of their signature menu items -- ceviche!

“We’ve been known for ceviche for 20 years, so yeah, ceviche is a great part of our brand and menu,” he said. “And I think it started as a joke a little bit, but people wanted our recipe, so we said we’ll make a class out of it and it definitely works. It’s a lot of fun.”

The experience allows you to choose from more than 10 ingredients -- everything from cucumbers to spicy peppers -- to create a ceviche that reflects your own flavor style.

“Some people go towards sweet, some people go towards more veggies and some people go towards more spicy. So then every ceviche is very different from each other,” Del Rivero said. “They even compete a little, which is a lot of fun.”

The two-hour experience is $65 per person and includes a welcome drink. For more information, click here.
