“Observed 40+ live roaches inside of oven on cook line in kitchen area.”
That was among the violations documented by state inspectors last week as several South Florida restaurant kitchens were ordered shut following inspections by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
No restaurant kitchens were ordered shut in Broward County or the Florida Keys.
Among the locations cited was Loretta & The Butcher. Inspection records for Loretta & The Butcher show that 9 of its 16 inspections required a follow-up visit by state inspectors.
Other restaurants ordered shut included Dicrespo, El Rinconcito Paisa #4, Sports Grill and Mr. Baker. Inspectors reported a range of violations, including roach activity, roach droppings, food stored at unsafe temperatures, dirty equipment and employee hygiene issues.
Below is a list of places that were ordered shut and some of their violations.
All the places mentioned here were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection.
