MIAMI — It’s Miami Spice prix-fixe menu time, and foodies with a taste for fine dining are teaming up to help the homeless in Miami-Dade County.

During August and September, more than 300 restaurants will be encouraging their Miami Spice patrons to make donations to the Camillus House.

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau organized the three-course menu campaign about 14 years ago to help local restaurateurs.

The non-profit marketers’ campaign has evolved to partner with charitable organizations by empowering Miami Spice patrons to also help those in need.

While Miami Spice options cost $35 for brunch or lunch and $45 or $60 for dinner, a $10 donation inspired by the savings can help Camillus House serve three meals.

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau has committed to matching the Miami Spice patrons’ first $25,000 donation, so Camillus House receives $50,000 -- enough to serve some 15,000 meals to the homeless.
