Ex-Miami-Dade garbage man pleads guilty to 79 charges, gets sentenced to 15 years in prison

Former government employee pleads guilty to all charges

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — On Monday, a judge sentenced Clifton Silimon, a Miami-Dade County waste management worker who pleaded guilty to 79 charges.

The judge sentenced Silimon, 52, to 15 years in prison and a five-year probation, and warned that a violation would result in a sentence “between 404 months and 1040 years.”

Detectives and prosecutors said Silimon stole rims from dozens of cars in a county-wide crime spree that lasted about a year.

The evidence against him included a tracking device in his government-issued vehicle.
