Miami-Dade deputies ask public for information on 27-year-old woman’s death

Tania Charles Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating the murder of Tania Charles, who was found dead on Friday in West Perrine.

WEST PERRINE, Fla. — Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies asked the public for information about a 27-year-old woman’s death after finding her body on Friday.

Deputies identified the woman found in West Perrine as Tania Charles, according to Detective Samantha A. Choon, a spokeswoman for the M-DSO.

Charles was dead shortly after 5:40 a.m. on Friday in the area of Southwest 170 Street and 98 Avenue, according to deputies.

Ron Von Paulus, the owner of Big Robs Tree Service, told Local 10 News that surveillance video showed the driver of a truck getting out at about 5 a.m. on Friday and opening the trunk to abandon the body that his neighbor later found.

Deputies asked anyone with information about the case to call Homicide Detective H. Garcia at 305-471-2400 or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
