Pompano Beach family wants dog caught after attack kills beloved Maltese

Pompano Beach families demands actions after fatal dog attack

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Through tears, after a fatal dog attack in Pompano Beach, Elizabeth Arellano remembered her late family dog “Biscuit” as loving and protective.

Arellano fears that the attacker that killed the Maltese that was part of her family for about eight years didn’t have a leash and hasn’t been caught.

“He was like a child,” Arellano said. “He was our baby. He was very special.”

A surveillance camera captured an image of the attacker, but none of the neighbors could identify the dog or the dog’s owner.

The attack, while Carlos Arellano was walking “Biscuit” last week, caused serious internal injuries that later forced the family to choose a humane death.

“He needs justice, my little dog, he needs justice, and we do too,” Elizabeth Arellano said. “We would be a lot happier if he was still here.”
