LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A man died, and another man was injured after a shooting on Monday afternoon in Lauderhill.
Police officers and fire rescue personnel responded to a report of a shooting around 4:30 p.m. near the 5600 block of Northwest 27th Court at Lauderhill’s Renaissance Point.
Police officers found a man suffering on the sidewalk and a wounded man inside a home, according to Sgt. Parys Thomas, a spokesman for the Lauderhill Police Department.
Fire rescue rushed the two injured to the Broward Health Medical Center. A doctor pronounced one of the men dead, and the other was hospitalized in stable condition, according to Thomas.
Witnesses told Local 10 that they saw an armed man arriving at the complex and appearing to be looking for someone before open firing.
Investigators working through the evening hours taking pictures and combing for clues.
A Local 10 News crew saw evidence markers on the ground and a car police say is connected to the crime being towed around 10:30 a.m.
“It hurts my soul to see that. Our people are being hurt, and Christmas is just a couple of days away. Everybody wants to be with family and exchange presents. That’s not the kind of present anyone expects to get,” a neighbor told Local 10 News.
