Condo association’s election dispute results in arrest in Miami-Dade

Detectives respond to condo chaos at Sunny Isles Beach

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department responded to a condominium owner’s association dispute.

SIBPD police officers and M-DSO deputies recently responded to the St. Tropez, a condominium complex in Sunny Isles Beach.

The neighbors at 150 Sunny Isles Boulevard have been fighting over the condominium owner association’s election.

A video shows Jacob Gold, the owner of a condo at St. Tropez, tearing up ballots after he said the COA’s election was illegal.

Gold was arrested. A resident said he later served him with harassment papers.

The COA’s president allegedly cancelled the election. The notices were taken down. There were allegations that there wasn’t proper notice for the first election.

Gold wanted the issues argued in court before another election took place. That didn’t happen. Instead, with police present, property owners voted.

Gold said he will push to take his fight to court.
