Shooting in Biscayne Gardens parking lot leaves 1 dead, 1 detained

A man was pronounced dead after a shooting occurred outside an apartment complex in Miami-Dade County’s Biscayne Gardens neighborhood on Thursday, and another man has been detained as homicide detectives investigate, authorities said.

Florida deputies ‘hop’ into action to catch a kangaroo

TAMPA, Fla. — Florida deputies responded to an odd call on Thursday morning, after someone reported seeing a kangaroo at a Tampa apartment complex.

Hillsboro County Sheriff’s deputies kept an on the kangaroo from above in a helicopter, until police surrounded it and safely apprehended it.

Deputies reunited the kangaroo with its owner after they verified that the animal was properly registered.
