Florida boy becomes police officer for a day, thanks to Make-A-Wish

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Florida boy became an honorary police officer in Orlando, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Honorary officer Stone Hicks packed a whirlwind of crimefighting into a few hours.

A few years ago, the 4-year-old was struggling with kidney failure.

His father donated one of his kidneys to him two years ago and he is doing well.

Stone’s father said his son has always dreamed of being a police officer and the Orlando Police Department and Orlando City Soccer came together to help that wish come true.

“Him being in the police cars rushing to the bad guys and arresting them, it was a full-on experience for him, one I’m sure he won’t forget,” said Craig Hicks.

Stone put two perpetrators in handcuffs and went back to police headquarters.

He posed with his favorite characters from the Paw Patrol series and even received an award from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Stone received a hero’s welcome and posed for pictures in his shiny new police car.
