MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Cessna 172 Skyhawk overturned and crashed on Tuesday afternoon in the Florida Everglades in Miami-Dade County.
A Miami-Dade County helicopter hovered over the crashed Cessna 172, where a pilot and a passenger were stranded.
A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rescue technician who wore a helmet descended from the helicopter and stood on a wing.

The M-DFR technician helped the two, who were not injured but were stranded west of the Miami Executive Airport, which is home to several flight schools
The M-DFR technician used a harness to help secure each of the victims, and a long cable to lift them up one at a time, so they could board the helicopter.

According to FlightAware tracking data, the Cessna’s takeoff was shortly before 1:50 p.m. at the Miami Executive Airport, and it was “last seen” at 2:33 p.m.
The plane’s tail number registration lists the owner as the Pilot Training Center LLC, a company based out of the Miami Executive Airport, according to state records.
The rescue helicopter landed at the Miami Executive Airport with the two victims.
