Trump deals with Epstein, Venezuela, tariffs on food

WASHINGTON — On Friday, President Donald Trump and his administration made announcements on Jeffrey Epstein, tariffs on food, and Venezuela.

After the House Oversight Committee released thousands of documents related to Epstein, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi assigned Manhattan U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton to investigate Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton.

“The Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Also on Friday, at the White House, Trump signed an executive order to get rid of tariffs on coffee, beef, and tropical fruits after announcing new deals with Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

The Pentagon reported on Friday that there was a 20th military strike on a boat related to drug trafficking that had killed four people on Monday -- raising the death toll to 80.

“President Trump ordered action — and the Department of War is delivering,“ Pete Hegseth wrote on X on Thursday. ”Today, I’m announcing Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR."

Hegseth wrote the SouthComm mission “defends our Homeland, removes narco-terrorists from our Hemisphere, and secures our Homeland from the drugs that are killing our people.”

The USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier is set to join.
