FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Superintendent Robert Runcie announced on Friday Broward County public schools will be closing starting Monday, but teachers will still have to report to work.
Runcie also canceled afterschool activities, but school cafeterias will remain open for food distribution among qualifying students.
Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco supported Runcie’s decision but wants him to allow teachers to protect themselves from the COVID-19 pandemic.
