MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — An Uber driver was arrested Tuesday in Miami-Dade County on a sexual battery charge, authorities said.
According to his arrest report, the victim told police Jeffrey Rodriguez, 28, of Miami, picked her up around 11:30 p.m. Monday and gave her several compliments and tried to engage in conversation with her.
The woman told police she asked Rodriguez to “just take her home,” the report stated.
Police said Rodriguez stopped a short time later at two unknown locations and the woman again asked him to take her home.
According to the arrest report, the woman feared that something would happen so she texted a friend, who then called police.
Authorities said Rodriguez drove the victim to his home, forced her to enter his bedroom and performed oral sex on the victim against her will.
He was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said Rodriguez refused to speak with a detective and asked for his attorney.
He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
