MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Voters in portions of Miami-Dade County headed to the polls Tuesday.
Several elections took place, including in Sunny Isles Beach, Medley and Florida City, but both races in Sunny Isles Beach will go to a runoff election on Feb. 8 as none of the candidates received 50% + 1 vote in order to be considered the winner. The race for Florida City mayor will also go to a runoff, as well as the race for Medley Council Member, as both candidates received 50% of the vote.
According to the Miami-Dade County Elections website, there was only a 14.91% voter turnout.
