Crime on video: Infamous ‘Fine Wine Bandit’ remains on the run in Miami-Dade

Videos show a prolific thief during regular pricey heists

PINECREST, Fla. – This prolific thief with a taste for the fine things in life has no shame. He has stolen thousands of dollars in fine wine and champagne for months from Milam’s Market locations.

Local 10 News covered the story in late June and he hasn’t stopped. The Milam family wants him caught, and they have noticed patterns in his behavior.

In June, Chad Milam described the brazen thief as “entitled.” Michael Milam said on Thursday that they can use the public’s help to stop him.

“He just comes in, in the same clothes, over and over again,” Michael Milam said. “It’s like he wants to be caught.”

In June, surveillance video shows the thief putting bottles of wine down his pants at the Milam’s Market at 3050 SW 37th Ave., near Coral Gables. By the end of July, he has become known as the infamous “Fine Wine Bandit.”

Most recently, the thief struck again on Monday and Tuesday at Milam’s popular location at 11701 South Dixie Highway, in Pinecrest.

The thief is even getting to the bottles that the market keeps on display behind glass — and under lock and key. He didn’t break the glass; he unlocked the access door.

Chad Milam said they had never seen anyone like him. The family has been running Milam’s Markets out of Miami since 1984. Michael Milam said they are not giving up. They want him caught.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
