Boy, 12, returns home safely after being reported missing from North Lauderdale

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward County deputies confirmed Tuesday that a 12-year-old boy who had been reported missing Monday in North Lauderdale had returned home safely.

According to authorities, Aiden Mahabir had last been seen at around 3:45 p.m. Monday at Silver Lakes Middle School, located at 7600 Tam O’Shanter Blvd. in North Lauderdale.

BSO officials described him as roughly 5-foot-5 and 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and pants and red, black and white shoes.

Detectives confirmed that he was in “good condition” when he returned home.

Authorities did not confirm why Aiden failed to return home from school Monday or where he had been during the time his family reported him missing.
