NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Video taken from a North Miami jewelry store shows a group of prepared criminals make off with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gold and gemstones.
The heist happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Gavco Jewelers, located at 16169 Biscayne Blvd.
The CCTV footage shows the crooks come down through the ceiling using a latter. They were even wearing helmets with lights attached.
One suspect realized there was a camera when it was too late. One of the perpetrators tried to cover the camera up with a piece of paper after it already recorded them.
Besides diamonds, gold and a box of silver jewelry, the men made off with a watch safe and a gun safe.
Police still haven’t caught the crooks as of Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
