Police: Shooting wounds man at strip mall in Miami’s Little Havana

MIAMI – A shooting wounded a man early Monday morning at a strip mall in Miami, police said.

The strip mall in Little Havana is home to the El Palenque Night Club, which remains open overnight until 5 a.m.

Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, reported the man who was injured was at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

The shooting was at about 5:40 a.m., and police officers detained a suspect near the intersection of Northwest 11 Street and 22 Avenue, according to Delva.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
