Deputies put Broward school on lockdown after gun report

Deputies respond to Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies placed Boyd Anderson High School on lockdown on Tuesday morning in Lauderdale Lakes.

Deputies were investigating a report of a gun on campus, according to Nadine Drew, a spokesperson for Broward County Public Schools.

Deputies responded to the school at about 9:50 a.m., at 3050 NW 41 St., and implemented the lockdown “in an abundance of caution,” according to Gerdy St. Louis, a BSO spokesperson.

There was a Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue ambulance on standby in the school’s parking lot. There were also a few marked BSO patrol cars near the school’s main entrance.

Deputies also put the school on lockdown on Monday after a fatal shooting just outside of the school’s baseball field.

Students were scheduled to take Mid-Term exams from 9:40 to 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday according to the school’s website. The exams are set to continue from Wednesday to Friday.
