Police search for driver who hit, killed pedestrian in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Police are searching for the driver who they said struck a man crossing Sunrise Boulevard on Wednesday night and did not stop.

That victim was pronounced dead by first responders.

It happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. along the 3500 block of Sunrise Boulevard near the Swap Shop in Lauderhill.

Homicide detectives worked for hours processing the scene and searching for clues.

Police said the driver of an SUV hit the man and left him for dead but had no additional information or description of the vehicle.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim.
