Family confirms man known as ‘Fat Boy’ killed in Goulds drive-by shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man known as “Fat Boy” was killed in a drive-by shooting Saturday in Miami-Dade County’s Goulds neighborhood, relatives told Local 10 News.

Authorities said officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Southwest 222nd Street and 114th Court.

The man’s stepmother identified the deceased victim as Edward Roberts.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene where a black car with at least two bullet holes had shattered windows on its driver’s side and back windshield and was mounted on a tow truck.

Police have not released any additional information on the victim and a motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
