FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A search of a Disney Cruise Line employee’s electronics after his ship docked at Port Everglades turned up a child sexual abuse video, leading to his arrest by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, according to an arrest report.

According to online records, Alvin Gonzales, 49, of Cavite, Philippines, was booked into the BSO Main Jail on Wednesday.

The arrest report states that authorities with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force had been tipped off to Gonzales and federal agents conducted a border search of his electronic devices after the ship, which isn’t named in the report, arrived at Port Everglades on Jan. 24.

That search turned up the illicit, nearly nine-minute-long video, deputies said. It depicted a boy between the ages of 8 and 10 engaging in sex acts with a girl aged 12 to 14, the report states.

In addition to a felony child pornography charge, Gonzales is being detained on an immigration hold, jail records show.

Disney Cruise Line released a statement Thursday night regarding Gonzales’ employment status and arrest, which you can read here:

“This individual (Gonzales) is no longer with the company, and we will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.”
