Daughter of FHP chase crash victim trying to get visa to attend funeral from Cuba

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The daughter of a Homestead truck driver killed in a crash that also claimed the life of a Florida Highway Patrol trooper is asking for help finding a way out of Cuba so she can attend her father’s funeral.

Arsenio Mas, 55, was killed Feb. 2 along with Trooper Zachary Fink, 26, as the latter was chasing a suspect on Interstate 95 in Port St. Lucie.

That suspect, Michael Anthony Addison, 30, of Lauderhill, is accused of making a U-turn against traffic in an attempt to escape Fink.

Mas’ daughter Yeisel spoke to West Palm Beach ABC affiliate WPBF.

She is reportedly working to come north for her father’s funeral, but is struggling to get a visa as she tries to make it in time.

“I was in shock, I did not believe it, I said it was a lie, I fainted, my blood pressure went up. I will never forget that day; I have it recorded in my mind,” she told WPBF.

Meanwhile, on Monday, family and friends gathered for a memorial service at Christ Fellowship Church to honor Fink.

Addison is facing multiple charges following the deadly crash.
