MARGATE, Fla. — Margate Middle School was on lockdown on Monday afternoon, according to the Margate Police Department.
Lt. Michael Druzbik, a spokesman for the department, reported the officers investigated “a possible weapon on school grounds.”

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center was also involved, according to Druzbik.
Shortly before 3:20 p.m., Druzbik reported the lockdown had ended, and the call had “cleared” since the suspicions were “unfounded.
