KEY LARGO, Fla. — Deputies in the Florida Keys arrested a man Thursday after they said he set his former workplace on fire, causing more than $1,000 in damages.

Terry Wayne Moore, 51, of Key Largo, is facing charges of arson, burglary and felony criminal mischief.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was a “disgruntled former employee” of the Pilot House Restaurant & Marina, located at 13 Seagate Blvd. on Key Largo.

MCSO spokesperson Adam Linhardt said deputies responded to the eatery at around 7:40 a.m. last Friday after receiving reports of a burglary and “multiple fires” in the business that appeared to have been intentionally lit.

Linhardt said deputies identified Moore, a “disgruntled former employee,” as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Moore was being held without bond in MCSO’s Key West jail facility as of Friday, according to online records.
