According to Golden Beach police, the incident happened March 4 in the 200 block of Ocean Boulevard.

Police said Cortez was in the passenger’s seat of a vehicle driven by a woman he was in a romantic relationship with when he pulled the gun just before 1:40 p.m.

The woman and Cortez drove off by time police arrived, but officers were able to track them down Monday after using license plate reader data, an arrest report states.

The report states that the woman confirmed to investigators that Cortez, whom she met on Facebook Dating, was with her that afternoon and pulled a gun during the incident.

Authorities took Cortez into custody on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm.

He was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond as of Tuesday afternoon.
