‘Living large’: Video shows man going into condo building, stealing beers, cash and even a car

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Surveillance footage obtained by Local 10 News shows one of two men raiding the convenience store at the Maison Grande Condominium building in Miami Beach and coming out with burgled beers and ill-gotten greenbacks.

But the thief wasn’t stopping at suds and money.

Additional clips show one of the men looking for anything he can get his hands on — including a car.

The thieves struck the Mid-Beach condo building, located at 6039 Collins Ave., late Friday night into Saturday morning.

That car, a light blue 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, belongs to Katie Jane Ferrer.

“I’m just surprised, he was there for over an hour,” Ferrer said. “(He’s) living large.”

Police are now investigating.

“The Miami Beach Police Department is aware of the recent auto burglaries that have occurred at the Maison Grande Condominium,” Officer Christopher Bess, an MBPD spokesperson, said Tuesday. “Investigators have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. We urge anyone with information to contact our Criminal Investigations Division.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
