Family, friends gather in prayer for 2-year-old who nearly drowned in Aventura

Child remains in ICU at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – For the past several nights outside Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, a large group has gathered to pray for a young girl.

Two-year-old Leini Ezra was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning after nearly drowning in an Aventura pool.

Officials said Leini fell into her pool and was underwater for several minutes.

Her father, Shlomie Ezra, took to Facebook on Wednesday, asking for the community’s prayers.

While he was speaking in Hebrew, the language of pain is universal.

Dozens of people have come night after night to pray for the little girl.

Her family spent most of the day Wednesday inside the hospital as doctors continue to run tests on the child, but they are hopeful that the power of prayer will result in a miracle.
