MIAMI – Miami police arrested a 32-year-old man Friday, nearly two months after he was involved in an incident with his landlord that left the victim injured, authorities said.

Police said the 73-year-old victim, who is the owner of the building, told officers that he knocked on the door of one of the units to deliver a Section 8 extension letter.

He said Jonathan Luis Collado answered the door before slamming it in his face.

The victim said he knocked on the door again and then started walking away since no one was coming to the door.

According to the report, Collado and another person then exited the apartment unit and started following the victim, getting close to him and grabbing him by the wrist, preventing him from leaving.

Police said the victim was able to get away from the duo, but Collado and the other person continued to follow him and yell obscenities at him.

Police said the person who was with Collado pushed the victim on his chest and told him, “I’ll call some gang member to beat you up and burn down this building.”

According to the report, the victim suffered bruising to his left elbow and left knee.

He identified Collado to police in a photo lineup.

Collado was arrested Friday on a charge of battery on a person 65 or older.

The identity of the second person involved in the incident is unknown.
