Deputies said the men met up last Thursday at an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Northwest 36th Street in Lauderdale Lakes.

According to the report, Jones approached the victim’s car after he parked and said, “follow me.”

The victim told detectives that he began walking toward the apartment complex with Jones, but then became concerned that something was going to happen, so he turned around and began walking back to his car.

But Jones immediately grabbed the victim by his hair and shirt and pulled him into a nearby apartment, the report stated.

According to the report, Jones punched the victim and grabbed him by the neck inside the apartment.

The victim told detectives that he began to fight back, at which time Jones pepper sprayed him and took his purse, which had $1,000 inside.

According to the report, the victim was eventually able to break free from Jones and run to another apartment unit where he called BSO.

Deputies said the victim later identified Jones in a photo lineup.

Jones was taken into custody that same day on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping.

As of Monday, Jones was being held at the North Broward Bureau without bond.

According to jail records, Jones was on felony probation at the time of his arrest.
