STOCK ISLAND, Fla. — Firefighters battled a house fire in the Lower Florida Keys Tuesday morning.
According to Monroe County Fire Rescue, it happened at around 3:30 a.m. in the area of Ninth Avenue and Fifth Street on Stock Island.
Multiple county fire crews, as well as one from the Key West Fire Department, fought the blaze.
“The residents were able to get out safely,” an MCFR Facebook post states. “The fire was contained to the structure and fully extinguished. There were no injuries reported and (the) Red Cross was notified.”
Authorities said the Monroe County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
