An arrest warrant made public on Friday states that on Feb. 4, Fernandez entered the woman’s room, struck her in the face and choked her, forcing her to perform sex acts.

The woman suffers from depression, Alzheimer’s disease and hallucinations, the warrant states.

She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with injuries from the attack, deputies said. There, she was given a sexual assault examination.

DNA tests from the woman’s breasts were a match with Fernandez, according to the warrant.

Fernandez is facing charges of sexual battery and battery by strangulation.

As of Friday, he was being held in BSO’s North Broward Bureau jail facility in Pompano Beach on a $100,000 bond.
