MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Miami-Dade police have identified the man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her child outside of a bank branch Friday morning before taking his own life.
Authorities said Monday morning that Michael Andres Pineda Lozano, 41, shot and killed Odalys Maria Bancroft, 43, and her 4-year-old son, Theodore Couto, in the drive-thru of the Chase Bank off Bird Road and Southwest 152nd Avenue in Kendall West.
Pineda Lozano was not Theodore’s father, police said.
Family members said Bancroft had recently filed a restraining order against Pineda Lozano.
Authorities haven’t released a motive for the murder-suicide.
Family members have created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
