Defense questions evidence against Broward man blamed for wife’s disappearance in Spain

MIAMI — David Knezovic, a Broward County resident who stands accused of kidnapping his 40-year-old estranged wife, wants to be released from federal prison.

Ana Maria Henao, also known Ana Kenezevich, was last seen entering her apartment on Feb. 2, in Madrid, Spain, but not walking out.

Investigators believe Knezovic, also known as David Kenezevich, was at the apartment building on Feb. 2 in Madrid wearing a motorcycle helmet and spray painting the lens of a surveillance camera.

Investigators in the U.S. and Spain suspect Knezovic broke into her apartment and left with a suitcase. Detectives reported finding blood in her apartment in Madrid.

Thursday in federal court, the suspect’s defense questioned the reliability of the evidence against him. The judge agreed some of the surveillance video wasn’t clear.
