Fireboats join search off Port Everglades

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Fireboats joined a search involving law enforcement on Saturday morning off Port Everglades.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel worked together at the port in Broward County and the Stranahan River and Lake Mabel areas.

A fugitive with an arrest warrant jumped in the water during a chase in the area of 2021 Eller Drive, according to BSO deputies’ scanner traffic. A BSO spokesperson had yet to confirm the initial report by dispatch.

Authorities were searching the water off Port Everglades on Saturday morning in Broward County.
