Police investigating after woman fatally struck by Brightline train in Aventura

Woman killed after being struck by train in Aventura. (WPLG)

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a Brightline train.

It happened Monday at approximately 7:13 p.m. in the area of 18600 Biscayne Blvd in Aventura.

According to police, officers were alerted to a woman who had been struck by a train.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman who was pronounced deceased by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews.

The circumstances leading up to the incident are under investigation.
