LAUDERHILL, Fla. — Emergency crews launched a dive operation Saturday morning behind a business in Lauderhill.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. near the 7300 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard, where a man was found in a nearby canal and failed to resurface.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue said dive team members located the man underwater and pulled him out.
The man was transported to Florida Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition as of Saturday morning, authorities said.
Lauderhill police are investigating how the man ended up in the canal.
