WESTON, Fla. — Detectives accused a 30-year-old man of sexually assaulting a teenage girl he met at an instructional facility for kids in Broward County.

According to the arrest report, Alejandro Fernandez worked as the operations manager of iCode Weston, a program for kids who want to learn about tech.

According to the report, Fernandez preyed on the 16-year-old girl at iCode and sexually abused her there, in the car, and at an apartment.

“She felt as though she had to do it because she was afraid,” Broward Sheriff’s Office Detective Azucena Rodriguez wrote in her report.

The victim also reported telling Fernandez, who was not wearing a condom, to stop because she was in pain and him ignoring her, according to the report.

Records show Rodriguez, of the BSO Special Victims Unit, arrested Fernandez on Thursday at a five-bedroom home in a gated community in Weston.

On Friday night, inmate records show BSO correctional deputies were holding Fernandez at the Paul Rein Detention Facility.

Records show Fernandez is facing two counts of sexual battery with a minor, a felony of the second degree, and his bond was $70,000.
