According to U.S. Capitol police, Tarrio struck a woman’s phone and arm after she placed the device near his face just moments after he held a press conference on Capitol grounds.

Authorities said he was arrested on a simple assault charge.

Before receiving a presidential pardon, Tarrio had been sentenced to 22 years in prison for seditious conspiracy, despite not being at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
